Cyera takes another $400M from Goldman. The >$12B DSPM mark still wants revenue proof.

Sep 22 Business Wire. Goldman Sachs Alternatives extends Series G. Company says valued over $12B. June’s $600M Evolution Equity round set the mark. Revenue Undisclosed. Trust layer — or capital stacking on AI narrative?

Another nine-figure check into data security. The question is whether the mark moved — or just the war chest.

On September 22 Cyera announced a $400 million extension from Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives to its Series G, originally led by Evolution Equity (Business Wire via FinancialContent). The company frames the capital as acceleration for a unified platform that governs access for every human, machine, and AI agent. Proceeds, per the release: continue AI Security product roadmap work, deepen federal market presence, and expand internationally across EMEA and APAC.

Valuation — print only what sources say. Cyera’s About block in the same release says the company is valued at over $12 billion. SecurityWeek (Sep 22) reports the additional funding brings valuation to more than $12 billion, and that Cyera has raised a total of more than $2.7 billion. That sits on the June 10 Cyera primary: a $600 million Series G at a $12 billion valuation, led by Evolution Equity Partners with Cyberstarts and Temasek participating alongside existing backers. Revenue, ARR, and a precise post-money for the Goldman extension are not published beyond “over / more than $12B.”

What the company says it is selling: a trust layer that started at the data plane and now reaches agents. The Sep 22 release highlights Agent Guardian and Cyera Endpoint — tracking tool calls, database queries, and actions from cloud to endpoints where local agents (Claude Code, Cursor named in the PR) touch sensitive work. It also cites the acquisition of Oasis Security to combine that visibility with non-human identity (NHI) management. Named enterprise references in the About section: Paramount, Chipotle, Valvoline. Treat those as company-supplied customer logos, not as CyberMerge-verified deployments.

Category heat is real on the CyberMerge desk. Cyera already sits at the intersection of Data Security / DSPM and AI Security — the same dual lane that keeps reheating when capital chases “who can see what the agent can reach.” Goldman’s Irit Kahan is quoted saying Cyera was first to bring data and identity together as agents multiply. That is investor narrative. Underwrite it against product proof and, when published, against revenue — which remains Undisclosed.

Capital context: June’s Cyera PR said the company had shipped more than 100 new product capabilities across DSPM, privacy, identity, DLP, and agentic security in the prior year, and positioned total funding then as over $2 billion (About text in that release also cited over $2.3 billion). SecurityWeek’s post-extension “more than $2.7B” is the secondary figure for cumulative capital after Goldman. Burn rate and multiple: Undisclosed.

POV: Series G extensions from bulge-bracket growth equity are a signal that the private mark is sticky enough for a large allocator to write a check without a fresh public price discovery. Sticky is not the same as proven. Boards buying “trust layer for the agentic enterprise” should ask for attach rates on Agent Guardian versus classic DSPM seats — and for revenue that still is not on the tape. Dual-category heat is a Research desk fact pattern. A >$12B private valuation without a sourced revenue line is a capital-markets claim to validate, not to parrot.
