Infisical raises $40M at a $600M valuation to let AI agents use company systems without ever holding the keys

What they sell. Infisical stores and hands out "secrets", meaning the passwords, API keys, certificates and encryption keys that apps and scripts use to log in to databases, clouds and code repos. It also manages privileged access. The company says it serves more than 1,300 customers and 300,000 developers, secures 10 billion secrets a day, and has 30,000+ GitHub stars on its open-source project. Named customers include Airbus, Volkswagen, Hugging Face, Wise and Clay.

The AI agent angle. The money goes toward Agent Vault. An AI agent that fixes code or queries a database needs credentials, and if you paste them into the agent they can leak through a prompt injection or get sent to the model provider. Agent Vault lets a company define what each agent may reach, then brokers the access so the agent never sees the actual key.

The market read. This lands the same week IBM made Agent Identity generally available alongside HashiCorp Vault, so the big platforms and an open-source upstart are now racing for the same spot: the credential layer every agent has to pass through. $600M on 1,300 customers says investors think that spot is worth owning. Revenue was not disclosed.
